Zakros
Zakros es ist ein traditionelles Dorf (mit einer Bevölkerung von 640 Einwohnern - Quelle Wikipedia.gr aus der Volkszählung von 2011) umgeben von Olivenhainen (erster Reichtum) und zwischen fast menschenleer rauen Bergen, in einer Landschaft mit starken Kontrasten und sicher touristischem Interesse.
Im Dorf befindet sich die Haltestelle der regionalen Buslinie Ktel, mit Abfahrt von Sitia, im Richtung Palekastro und dann weiter nach Kato Zakros, die Frequenz ist im Sommer 3 mal pro Woche.
Zakros ist bei den Koordinaten +35°6'46.348"Nord,+26°13'9.072"Ost und ist der nächstgelegene Ort zu Xerokampos und Kato Zakros (beide bei 10 Minuten Fahrt) verbunden mit 10 km der Panorama und bezaubernden Straßen.

The property is on Kali Strata, a quiet street leading out of the village towards the sea about 7kms away.
It is 5-10 minutes walk from the Ano Zakros platia.
The house was reconstructed in 2002 from an old ruined house, keeping features such as the stone framework around windows, doors etc.
